Tory Trahern has placed 1st at Area which qualified her for the ALL STATE BAND!!! She is currently one of the top 5 bari saxophone players for 1A-4A schools in the state!

ATTN: Sunray Parents. Our newly constructed gym and Elementary school entrance with drive-thru lanes will be open when we return on Monday, Jan 10th. PLEASE NOTE- the inside lane closest to the building will be for Pre-K parents to park for drop off and pick-up. BUS RIDERS- buses will continue to drop off & pick up at the bus lane. All K-5th grade students will now gather in the new gym for morning announcements.

The varsity boys basketball team will not be playing in the Groom tournament. The Varsity girls will continue to play as scheduled.

Friday’s game times in Claude have changed:
JV Boys will play @ 2:00
Varsity Girls Will play @ 3:30
Varsity Boys will play @ 5:00


We will be going live tonight on the schools FB page starting at 4:30 with the 6th Grade Band.

All campuses will release early on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Please be reminded that school will start again on January 10, 2022 at normal time.

Reminder: All 6th Grade Band Students will not be released to go home after school. They will be taken to the High School auditorium to prepare for tonight’s band concert that starts at 4:30.

Another successful canned food drive. The Sunray Resource Center would like to thank everyone who donated to the food pantry.

Starting tomorrow we will have a table set up outside of the elementary/middle school library, we have several coats and jackets that have been found. If your child is missing a jacket or a coat please come check the lost and found table.

Today our staff was given a $600 Christmas Bonus and a meal catered by The Plaza from our Board of Trustees.
Thank you to our board members the staff at Sunray CISD greatly appreciate everything you do for our students and staff.




On December 6th, 10 high school students travelled to Panhandle to audition for the Region 1 All Region Bands. These students competed against students from 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A schools in the panhandle. The following students performed well enough to earn a spot in the All Region Band Concert:
Sabrina Harrison, 33rd chair, Concert Band
Maryn Hatfield, 5th chair, Concert Band
Tory Trahern, 1st chair, Honors Band
Gizelle Borunda, 34th chair, 1st Alternate
Alessandro Zamarripa, 5th chair, Concert Band
Jose Mejia Rivas, 14th Chair, Concert Band
Brayson Hutches, 15th chair, Concert Band
These students will play in the All Region Band Concert at WTAMU on January 15th. The Concert Band will perform at 3:45 and the Honors Band will perform at 5:30 in Northen Hall. Friends and family are welcome to attend to support their students.
Tory Trahern and Alessandro Zamarripa qualified for Area. They will audition for the All State Band on January 8th in Levelland.
